The official clip of “You will never know”, a beautiful song from Imany’s 2011 album “The Shape of a Broken Heart”. It is the debut album from former French catwalk model Nadia Mladjao, aka Imany. Produced by Malick N’Diaye (Ayo) its 12 English-language tracks offer up a mixture of acoustic folk, heartfelt soul, and passionate blues, and includes the single “You Will Never Know.”
You Will Never Know lyrics
It breaks my heart ’cause I know you’re the one for me
Don’t you feel sad there never was a story
Obviously it never be
You will never know
I will never show
What I feel
What I need from you no
You will never know
I will never show
What I feel
What I need from you
With every smile comes my reality irony
You won’t find out what has been killing me
Can’t you see me, can’t you see?
You will never know
I will never show
What I feel
What I need from you no
You will never know
I will never show
What I feel
What I need from you
No no no no you will never know
I will never show
What I feel
What I need from you no
No no no no you’ll never know
No no no no you’ll never know
No no no no
Love me love me love me love me no
You will never know
I will never show no no no
What I feel
What I need from you no no no
You will never know
I will never show no no no
What I feel
What I feel
What I feel
What I need
What I need from you no.
About Imany
Nadia Mladjao, better known by her stage name Imany was born on April 5, 1979, in Martigues near Marseille, France, in a family from Comoros (an island country in the Indian Ocean located at the northern end of the Mozambique Channel off the eastern coast of Africa between northeastern Mozambique, the French region of Mayotte, and northwestern Madagascar).
As a youth, she was an athlete, doing high jump.
She became a model for the Ford Models Europe. She went to the United States for seven years before coming back to France, when she started her singing career.
In 2008, she began singing. She performed at the Beau Lounge, at the Réservoir, at the Bellevilloise, and at the China Club.
Her stage name, Imany (Imani) means faith in the Swahili language (Comorian, spoken in the Comoros Islands, is sometimes considered to be a dialect of Swahili, though other authorities consider it a distinct language).

Imany’s first album, “The Shape of a Broken Heart”, which released in 2011, was a huge success. It reached platinum status in France, Greece and triple platinum in Poland.
This first album was named after a drawing she made with closed eyes, contains twelve songs written in English.
The beautiful song “You Will Never Know” from her debut album has been watched on YouTube more than 40 million times (as of 2020).
Imany says “On stage, I want to tell a different story than what you find on the recordings. And every night, it’s never really the same, because depending on the place, the mood, the public, the energy is different. It’s always a challenge: getting through the audience, making them feel something.”
Like in Warsaw, under the rain but facing a crowd who knew the words every song.
“I don’t do things halfway: even when I’m tired, even when I’m pregnant, even with a sprained ankle, I give everything I have, I’m not pretending. You can’t hide anything from the audience if you really want them to be with you. In a lot of ways, the audience is the eighth band member.”
